Hungarian Apple Pie with Dairy-Free Ice Cream

Ingredients:
For the Pastry:
- 2 cups flour (your preference)
- 1/2 cup dairy-free butter substitute, chilled and cubed (such as coconut oil)
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup granulated glycine
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/2 cup maple syrup or other liquid sweetener of your choice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

- Gradually add cold water, a tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together.
- Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Make the Apple Filling:
- In another bowl, combine the sliced apples, glycine, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the mixture.
3. Assemble and Bake:
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch pie dish.
- Place the rolled-out dough into the pie dish and trim any excess dough.
