Homemade pizza rolls
These Baked Salami and Mozzarella Pizza Rolls are a quick and delicious treat that combines the flavors of pizza in a convenient rolled-up form. They make for a perfect appetizer or snack for gatherings or as a fun and easy meal option.
Ingredients:
- 4 large flour tortillas or corn tortillas
- 8 slices of salami
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
- Optional toppings: sliced olives, diced bell peppers, chopped onions, dried herbs (such as oregano or basil)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
‍
2. Assemble the Pizza Rolls:
Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
Place 2 slices of salami on top of the sauce, covering the tortilla evenly. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the salami.
Add any optional toppings of your choice, such as sliced olives, diced bell peppers, chopped onions, or dried herbs.
‍
3. Roll and Arrange:
Starting from one end, tightly roll up the tortilla into a compact log. Place the rolled tortilla seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and fillings.
‍
4. Brush with Olive Oil:
Brush the tops of the rolled tortillas with olive oil. This helps them brown and crisp in the oven.
‍
5. Bake in the Oven:
Bake the pizza rolls in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the tortillas are golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
‍
6. Cool and Serve:
Remove the pizza rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve the pizza rolls warm as a delightful snack or appetizer. You can also cut them into bite-sized pieces for easy serving.
